Welcome to the World is the second and final Psycho Motel album, released in 1997. It features a different vocalist from the band's first album, 1995's State of Mind. In place of Hans Olav Solli is Andy Makin, whose "dark lyrics and distinctive vocal delivery" differentiate the album from its predecessor. It also features Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy and Dave Murray of Iron Maiden as guest guitarists. In 2006, Welcome to the World was re-released with two bonus tracks. These tracks contain Solli from the first album on vocals, and were probably recorded just before he left the band in 1997.

Megadeth A thrash metal institution, Megadeth are one of the most acclaimed and successful metal outfits of their era. Formed in 1983 by guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson, they are part of the "big four" of the genre, along with Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer; bands that expanded on the typical metal blueprint by speeding up the tempos and putting an emphasis on lightning-fast technical guitar skills. Mustaine's nihilistic lyrics and the band's unrelenting musical attack resulted in a series of early thrash classics. 1986's Peace Sells… But Who's Buying? and 1992's Countdown to Extinction sold in the millions and influenced the next generation of speed metal bands, while later efforts like 2007's United Abominations, 2016's Grammy-winning Dystopia, and 2022 album The Sick, The Dying… And the Dead! revealed a band with plenty of gas left in the tank; even as they headed toward their final album, 2026's Megadeth.

Iron Maiden limited edition collection releases come out in Europe in 1995. All stickers have the same identifier: MAIDCAT10, containing 2 CDs: album and bonus disc with b-side tracks from the singles of that album.
Known for such powerful hits as "Two Minutes to Midnight" and "The Trooper," Iron Maiden are one of heavy metal's most influential bands. They're also one of metal's most enduring and distinctive acts, thanks to their melodic guitars, ambitious songwriting, powerhouse vocalist Bruce Dickinson, and iconic mascot Eddie. One of the first groups to be classified as "British metal," Iron Maiden helped set the rock scene for the '80s and inspired generations of subsequent bands, including Metallica, Dream Theater, Slipknot, In Flames, and Avenged Sevenfold. Despite a lack of radio airplay or mainstream media support, early allegations of Satanism, and a revolving lineup, they have remained consistently popular throughout their career.

Crematory One of the pioneering acts of the fertile European goth metal scene in the 1990s, Germany's Crematory began as a strict death metal unit before adding goth and industrial elements into their arsenal. Formed in 1991, their 1992 demo quickly caught the attention of Massacre Records, which issued the band's debut long-player, Transmigration, the following year. Tours alongside Tiamat, My Dying Bride, and Atrocity helped to expand Crematory's fan base, and they began seeing heavy rotation on MTV Germany, which they responded to by recording their 1996 Nuclear Blast-issued eponymous album completely in their native language. Subsequent LPs like Awake, Act Seven, and Believe saw Crematory moving in a darker, more surreal direction that leaned more heavily on the gothic side of their persona, but despite their enormous popularity, by 2001 they had elected to disband.

Ozzy Osbourne's eighth solo studio album, Down to Earth, shows the madman of rock relying on a supergroup of metal musicians to bring his sound together. Longtime Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde is back, this time with Suicidal Tendencies bassist Robert Trujillo and Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin supplying the rhythm. Despite the ever-changing world of heavy metal, Ozzy has a strangely timeless sound that he does not stray from on this record. Thick, heavy songs like "Gets Me Through" could really be on any Ozzy record after 1989 and fit in, but it is this bizarre reliability that keeps the album as listenable as it is. There are a few off moments, most specifically when it comes to the occasional murky production that muffles Wylde's fiery guitar and Bordin's drums…

Following the extremely warm reception given his self-named band's well-deserving debut album, Holy Diver, Ronnie James Dio figured there was no point in messing with a winning formula, and decided to play it safe with 1984's sophomore effort, The Last in Line - with distinctly mixed results. Although technically cut from the same cloth as those first album nuggets, fist-pumping new songs like "We Rock," and "I Speed at Night" curiously went from good to tiresome after just a few spins (a sign that the songwriting clichés were starting to pile up…read on); and the otherwise awesome, seven-minute epic, "Egypt (The Chains Are On)," inexplicably lost it's strikingly sinister main riff halfway through, in what sounds like a mastering snafu of some kind. On the upside, more dramatic, mid-paced numbers such as the title track, "One Night in the City," and "Eat Your Heart Out" - as well as the driving "Evil Eyes" - delivered enough compelling riffs and melodies…
