Andrea Bocelli, GO OMRI. (born September 22, 1958) is an Italian tenor. To date, he has recorded seven complete operas (La bohème, Tosca, Il trovatore, Werther, Pagliacci, Cavalleria rusticana and Carmen) in addition to various albums in the classical, pop, and operatic pop genres. He has sold over 65 million albums worldwide thus far making him one of the biggest selling tenors of all time, and the biggest selling classical solist of all time. Bocelli is an album released by Andrea Bocelli in 1995 on the Polydor GmbH label. This album is the follow-up to his debut album, Il mare calmo della sera. The album outsold Bocelli's aforementioned debut album not only in his native Italy, but it also received multi-platinum status across Europe.
The interpretations of the ensemble La Magnifica Comunita, playing on original instruments, are gaining enormous critical acclaim, winning a prestigious “Diapason d’Or” and “Choc de la Monde de la Musique” in France, for their eloquent phrasing, and fresh and brilliant playing, full of vigour and tenderness.
