In the pluralistic twilight years of the twentieth centry postmodern serialist muzak, amidst the overarching influences of serialists turned neoromantics and minimalists, we have Charles Wuorinen as the enfant terrible in all its wunderkind reincarnations known to man. Or is he? For others, he's just another inconvenient gadfly and proselytizer in all its hideous form. What is undoubtedly true is that Wuorinen is a force to be reckoned with. As one of the most brilliant exponents of "The New Virtuosity," he has now been in the public eye (and ear, to a lesser extent) for nearly thirty years, functioning in the multiple capacities of composer, pianist, conductor, and polemicist. In 1962, he and his buddy Harvey Solberger cofounded the Group for Contemporary Music at Columbia University, which set a precedent for later New York groups such as Speculum Musicae and Parnassus. Similar ensembles drawing upon the dazzling technique of a new generation of singers, instrumentalists, and conductors were formed in many respect closely tied to this new wave of most remarkable Movimiento artístico.

Free is the second album of English rock group Free, recorded and released in 1969. The band had spent time touring after their debut album Tons of Sobs the previous year, and there is a marked difference in the musicianship of the band as well as Paul Rodgers's voice. Individual members of the band seem less inclined to show off their musicianship…

Free Live! was the fifth album by English rock band Free, and their first (and to date only official) live album. It was rush-released by Island Records to commemorate the band, who had broken up in April 1971. Possibly due to the publicity caused by their breakup (which had also earned them a successful parting single "My Brother Jake" that same month) the album was a hit, reaching #4 in the UK album charts.

Although Free was never destined to scrape the same skies as Led Zeppelin, when they first burst out of the traps in 1968, close to a year ahead of Jimmy Page and company, they set the world of British blues-rock firmly on its head, a blistering combination of youth, ambition, and, despite those tender years, experience that, across the course of their debut album, did indeed lay the groundwork for all that Zeppelin would embrace. That Free and Zeppelin were cut from the same cloth is immediately apparent, even before you start comparing the versions of "The Hunter" that highlight both bands' debut albums.

Temple of the Dog was an American rock band that formed in 1990. It was conceived by Chris Cornell of Soundgarden as a tribute to his friend, the late Andrew Wood, lead singer of Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone. The line-up included Stone Gossard on rhythm guitar, Jeff Ament on bass guitar (both ex-members of Mother Love Bone), Mike McCready on lead guitar, Matt Cameron on drums and Eddie Vedder, providing backing vocals.
The band released its only album, the self-titled Temple of the Dog, in April 1991 through A&M Records. Although earning praise from music critics at the time of its release, the album was not widely recognized until 1992, when Vedder, Ament, Gossard and McCready had their commercial breakthrough with Pearl Jam.

Alto saxophonist Candy Dulfer was brought into the limelight by Prince, who introduced her to the world via his video for "Partyman." Raised in a family heavily involved in the Dutch jazz scene, Dulfer is the daughter of Hans Dulfer, a respected jazz tenor saxophonist. Thanks to him, she listened to and studied the recordings of Sonny Rollins, Coleman Hawkins, and Dexter Gordon. He also introduced her to the stage early in life. When she was 12, she began playing in a band with Rosa King, an American expatriate who lived in Holland. Her career began by playing with brass bands but soon she was fronting her own band, Funky Stuff, who were invited to backup Madonna…
