One of Aretha's sadly overlooked 70s gems – a great little session produced by Lamont Dozier, with a mix of smooth soul, driving rhythms, and just the right amount of rough edges to keep things real, very much in the tone of Lamont's own strong work for the ABC label at the same time. Lamont also wrote a fair number of the tunes – and titles include "Sunshine Will Never Be The Same", "Touch Me Up", "A Tender Touch", "No One Could Ever Love You More", and "When I Think About You". The band remained with Capricorn throughout the rest of the 1970s, releasing Hometown Boy Makes Good! in 1976. A live album, Raisin' Hell, was released in 1977 to capitalize on the group's enduring popularity. A return to the studio resulted in Hog Heaven, released in 1978. None of these albums, however, was able to match the popularity of Struttin' My Stuff. Faced with its decline in popularity, the band opted to dissolve at the end of the decade, ending its affiliation with Capricorn after the release of Best of Elvin Bishop in 1979.
Bishop was relatively quiet for much of the next decade, after releasing Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby in 1981. In 1988 he returned to active duty, signing with Alligator Records and effectively returning to his blues roots. That year's Big Fun marked the debut of Bishop with his new label, followed by 1991's Don't Let the Bossman Get You Down. In 1995 Bishop released Ace in the Hole and also performed on the first solo album of his former mentor, Smokey Smothers. The 1998 album The Skin I'm In addresses, among other things, the artist's experience of growing older. In January of 2000, Bishop's career appeared to close the circle when Smokey Smothers joined him onstage for three nights of sold-out shows in San Francisco. The performances were captured on That's My Partner!, released later that year.

With THE SOUND OF SUMMER RUNNING, bassist Marc Johnson has assembled a landmark quartet of such magnitude as to rival his legendary Bass Desires group of the mid '80s. Returning from that group is crafty guitar pioneer Bill Frisell. The two new additions are contemporary jazz guitar master Pat Metheny and the always adventurous percussionist Joey Baron. This list of musicians constitutes a "dream band" if there everwas one. Metheny and Frisell are locked in a beautiful dance as their signature sounds bob and weave around Johnson's deep foundation. Baron's stark percussive stabs and shimmering colours add just the right turmoil to the mix.
The music is nothing short of mesmerising in it's exploration of tonal colours and depth of creativity. The breezy freshness of "Faith In You" sets the tone, as the two guitarists alternately fly and support each other. A myriad of directions are explored from here: western-flavoured folk ("Ghost Town", "With My Boots On"), a bluesy Chicago shuffle ("Union Pacific"), a sleepy mid-western groove ("Porch Swing") and colourful avant-garde explorations ("The Adventures Of Max And Ben"). Fans of Metheny's ECM days will enjoy the soaring "Summer Running". All of this with the quirky slant you would expect from this cast of magical sound-smiths.

The Devil You Know is the debut studio album from the heavy metal band Heaven and Hell. The album is due for release on April 28, 2009. Produced by the band and sound engineer Mike Exeter. The album will be the band's first studio release under the name Heaven and Hell with the group members having played with each other previously in an earlier line-up of the band Black Sabbath.

The Dolls are set to re-release their sophomore album, "Doll Dominiation." It'll be called "Doll Domination 2.0" and the Dolls are really trying to get more album sales out of this album. It has underperformed tremendously, I thought that this album would sell alot more than it has especially because there are some amazing tracks on here. The re-release will include "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)," "Top of the World", as well as a remix for the song "Hush Hush" and a new song called "Painted Windows." So make sure you pick up your copy when it hits stores April 14th.
