Kveikur (pronounced [ˈkveikʏr], fuse or candlewick) is the seventh studio album from Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. It was released 12 June 2013 in Japan, on 17 June internationally, and on 18 June in the United States through XL Recordings. It is the first album to be fully released through XL after the band departed EMI and Parlophone during the label's acquisition by Universal Music Group in 2012. It is the first album since their debut, Von, not to feature Kjartan Sveinsson, following his departure in 2012, and the last to feature drummer Orri Páll Dýrason before his departure in 2018. The cover is a photo by the Brazilian artist Lygia Clark. Kveikur sees a new direction taken by Sigur Rós, both musically and thematically. The band has described the album's sound as "more aggressive" than any of their previous works. All tracks are sung in Icelandic, although Yfirborð contains some reversed words at the start, which can be considered Hopelandic.

Recorded in 1974, this album almost never saw the light of day. Fortunately, the master tapes were found and the album was released posthumously. Professor Longhair was a giant in the New Orleans music community, but had not recorded in over ten years when he was convinced to start playing again. From the opening riffs, one can understand the stature of Professor Longhair as a great pianist - he demonstrates that he is equally at home playing rhumba boogie, blues songs, and calypso. He plays New Orleans standards (many penned by himself), but what makes this recording a classic is the chance to hear him play with guitarist Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. This lively Impulse! set was the first recorded reunion of trombonists J.J. Johnson and Kai Winding. With pianist Bill Evans, either Paul Chambers or Tommy Williams on bass, and Roy Haynes or Art Taylor on drums, the two trombonists are in melodic and witty form on such tunes as "This Could Be the Start of Something Big," "Blue Monk," "Side by Side," and "Theme from Picnic."

This Argentinian band featured Gustavo Montesano (bass/vocals), Anibel Kerpel (keyboards), Pino Marrone (guitar/vocals) and a drummer from Uruguay named Gonzalo Farrugia (from the known progrock band Psiglo). They existed from '74 until '77 and made two records: "Crusis" from and "Los Delirios Del Mariscal". The music has a typcial Seventies sound with echoes from The Nice and Focus.
Both LP's were released as separate CD's but finally re-released on a 1-CD. The music is half instrumental/half with strong Spanish vocals and the emphasis is on the keybaords (organ, string-ensemble, synthesizers, Steinway - and Fender Rhodes piano), the rhythm-section sounds powerful and adventurous. Delving into electro, ambient, and trance, this album maps a galactic and melodic journey. The first and most aggressive track, "Intruder Detector", is an 11 minute electro soundtrack to a sci-fi scene where robot guards are patrolling a futuristic star base. Huge environmental drifting synth chords, a resonating bass, and precise, regimented percussion build the song's fantastic aural landscape.
