RPWL – oh yes, Pink Floyd… Now that the elephant in the room is out of the way, we can devote ourselves to the present album, because over the years it has been tried again and again to compare the Freisinger New Art-Rock formation with the legends from Cambridge. They started in the early 90s as a Pink Floyd tribute act and are archival connoisseurs of even the most obscure Syd Barrett songs, and every now and then a PF song can be found in their setlists. Such a comparison is flattering, of course, but 10 studio albums and seven live albums in 20 years, under the name RPWL alone, should be enough for a certain emancipation from the eternal analogies.

“There are many stories about visits from extraterrestrials. Sometimes the aliens come as friends, sometimes they come to enslave us. On this cold night, lights in the sky are making people all over the world uneasy…”

‘The Man And The Journey’ was an early PINK FLOYD concept album that never made it on to a sound carrier, but now it has via RPWL the band that made a career out of being an amazing FLOYD tribute band as well as a fantastic band in their own right that creates their own original brand of FLOYD-influenced art-rock!..

Nine years after his "No Decoder", RPWL frontman Yogi Lang announces a new solo album -expectations are high after such a long time. The new album titled "A Way Out Of Here" not only offers a colourful palette of art rock with its nine songs, but also illuminates the essentials of life with all obstacles, fears and rays of hope. A song-serving brilliant band, analog synthesizers and epic choirs provide the basis for Yogi Lang’s gilmouresque voice.

“Fragments“ is by far the most RPWL-like solo effort: self-indulgent midtempo songs with gripping Floyd-like harmony vocals form its cornerstones, like in “Wide World“. As insiders know, this is no wonder, since the multiplayer Postl contributes a lot to the creation of RPWL-songs, even though he is officially “just“ RPWL’s bassist. The other longtracks like “Longings End“ and “Skylights“ (like “Wide World“ adorned with Bairnsons guitar artwork) also show Postl’s penchant for prog-Genesis’ latter days, which manifests itself in “Longings End“ with corresponding guitar arpeggios and in “Skylights“ with mellotron, a trademark vocal line and classical acoustic guitar parts echoing the spherical moments on “Trick of the Tail“…

The concept albums "Wanted" (2014) and "Beyond Man And Time" (2012) are widely recognized as the pinnacle of German art rock giants RPWL’s discography which meanwhile comprises more than a dozen releases. On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the band is now set to release the long-awaited concert movie "A New Dawn." It documents the last stop of the tour in support of the "Wanted" album and that evening the Bavarians played in their hometown of Freising, Bavaria in October 2015. The show is an elaborately assembled combination of elements of a rock concert, a multimedia event and a play. This was the first and only time that the mammoth-production was brought to the stage. In addition to the musicians themselves the cast comprised around fifty actors and extras.

"Start The Fire" is RPWL's first live album after their album success "World Through My Eyes". Disc one is featuring songs from a "Rockpalast" show highlighting the band’s first three albums ("God Has Failed", "Trying to Kiss the Sun" and "Stock") with a special appearance of Ray Wilson ("Roses", "Not About Us"). Disc two, on the other hand, is a tour de force that reflects RPWL's live experience from three tours. More upbeat and borderline sublime - punctuated by some Pink Floyd covers like the surprise version of Syd Barrett's "Opel" or the great "Welcome To The Machine". The album concludes with the complete 12-and-a-half-minute version of the evocative "New Stars Are Born" Only the first seven minutes of this song were included on "World Through My Eyes".

Singer, keyboarder and producer Yogi Lang (RPWL) has summoned prominent supporters for his album: Manni Müller on drums (ex-RPWL, Claudia Koreck), Torsten Weber on guitar (Doors of Perception) and distinguished bass luminary Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd) underline and emphasize the singer’s expressive lyrics in their very own exceptional way. Special appearances by violinist Anne de Wolff (Rosenstolz among others) and Dominique Leonetti, singer for French progressive band Lazuli, add another artistic layer of color to the record. An album as complete and as personal as in any way possible: Yogi Lang defies of staffage and needless acoustic decoration – the songs float free within the emotions and leave certain topics to move drift spherically in time. With the stunning Artwork from Artist Judith Reichart the Digipack becomes a real collector’s piece.
