The material on “Unstatic” is comprised of eleven originals written by the leader, all of them played in what has now become familiar as the ‘Manu Katche style’. Katche’s way with a groove and ear for a good tune remain undimmed and the core group sound is expanded by the presence of guest trombonist Nils Landgren who appears on five tracks. Landgren features on the opening track, simply titled “Introduccion”, a seductive rhumba that finds Katche working in harness with no fewer than three guest percussionists in the shapes of Abraham Rodriguez Mansfarroll, Joel Hiereezuelo Balart and Esteben Sotolongo Zapata. Landgren makes a significant contribution on trombone alongside Watson on acoustic piano.

"In the Beginning" is the debut album by Swiss melodic metal/melodic hard rock band "Crystal Ball", originally released in 1999 and reissued this summer by AFM records following the reissue of their iconic album "Hard impact". While lately recognized as a heavy/power metal outfit with high profile release in these genres, "Crystal Ball" stated out as a band that drew elements from both hard rock and metal standing right between the two. In fact the melodic hard rock/glam metal sound of the late `80s was vastly influential on their early works.

The Graveyard Train barely got rolling along the tracks in the early 90's with a caboose full of bluesy hard rockers in the same vein as the London Quireboys and Black Crowes. Frank Scimeca (bass) and Robert Iezzi (drums) formed the band from the ashes of Angora, which had also included John Corabi and had a song featured on KNAC's The Son Of Pure Rock compilation album. They recruited relatively unknown Los Angeles residents Todd Griffin (vocals) and Bruce Draper (guitar). They quickly got signed to Geffen, and with the production of Tom Werman, their self-titled debut was released. In a nutshell… simply an outstanding album!

Celebration of the fiddler and composer Borcher Madsen´s 200th birthday. Mette Kathrine Jensen, Kristian Bugge and Morten Alfred Høirup celebrate the fiddler and composer Borcher Madsen´s 200th birthday. Borcher Madsen (1815-1897) was from the Southern Danish Islands of Falster and one of the regions most talented musician and dance music composer of that time. The Trio has been working with his music and history which now result in this recording and a booklet including short stories about Borcher Madsen.
