The full title is "Symphony of the Damned - Re-symphonised." It is a re-recording of the band's debut album, originally released in 1990 when they were known as Morgana Lefay, printed on vinyl in only 537 copies. The last four songs are bonus tracks that were not part of the original recording. The guys decided to go back in the studio in 99 as Lefay and give it a fresh take and release it to the masses.

The musicianship here really is top draw and this band of white boys could easily have backed James Brown and gotten away with it. 'Rawville' is essentially an album of gritty, organic funk numbers. A throwback to the days of 'Funky Drummer', the album has even been produced to sound 'retro' and on that score everything works fine together. The big problem with the album though is a distinct lack of variety. Sure, there are a few vocal tracks and Ohmega Watts even pops up to rap on a couple of sides but the emphasis pretty much all the way is on the funk.

The history of SYRINX began in Toronto in the late 60's with musician John MILLS-COCKELL; his first musical endeveaours started out in avantgarde electronic group called INTERSYSTEMS with which he recorded three albums by the year 1970. Later on he moved to Vancouver and joined HYDRO-ELECTRIC STREETCAR, which is when he met with percussionist Alan WELLS…

"Cut the Crap" - 3rd studio album was released in 1997 and benefited from two industry heavyweights overseeing its recording: producer Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica) and mixer Kevin Shirley (silverchair, Aerosmith). This album spawned the rock radio hit “Locked & Loaded,” which included guest vocals by AC/DC’s Brian Johnson. It was the first time Johnson had ever recorded with any artist but AC/DC since he joined the band 17 years earlier.

Originally released on Warners Brothers to scant acclaim in 1978, this Jerry Wexler-produced masterpiece finds James in astounding voice with a batch of great material to apply her massive interpretive powers to.
