It has been a great pleasure for me to have a chance to collaborate with Steve Khan on his first solo album. I was constantly amazed at his knowledge of the entire spectrum of music. Quarteto Brasil is made up of four veteran Brazilian musicians, with a fifth as an added guest on several tracks. Led by pianist Cristуvгo Bastos, who also wrote and arranged most of the compositions played on the session, the group includes saxophonist Ze Canuto (who plays soprano and alto), bassist Bororo (listed as an acoustic bassist, though it sounds like he's using an electric bass), drummer Jurim Moreira and percussionist Marcalzinho. This disc is not typical bossa nova, as the musicians are very forward thinking and take plenty of chances, especially in Bastos' engaging "Subdindo a Rocinha."

UK band Kingdom Come was the band of British artist Arthur Brown in the first half of the 70's, releasing three critically acclaimed albums before they folded in 1974. The keyboardist in the final line-up, US musician Victor Peraino, was given and used the opportunity to continue using the band name, and released a single album in 1975 as Victor Peraino's Kingdom Come. Since then news around the band have been fairly quiet, although it would appear that there's been a bit of activity. Featuring Arthur Brown on vocals again, "Journey in Time" is the second full-length production issued by the US based version of the band, and was released through the Italian label Black Widow Records in 2014…

This is a remarkably consistent set flowing naturally from one tune to another…The contributions from pianists Eduardo Simon, and Mark Soskins and from New Orleans drummer Ricky Sebastian are superb, providing a consistently subtle and sympathetic backdrop to Mann's flute…It is a rewarding listen; gentle, lyrical and very well produced. If you like your Jobim you won't go wrong here.

Alan Barton was a British singer and member of the hit-making duo Black Lace, alongside Colin Gibb. Their hits included: "The Music Man", "Agadoo" and "Superman". They also represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 1979 in Jerusalem, with the song "Mary Ann", which finished seventh. Barton replaced Chris Norman in Smokie in 1986, recording six albums with them, and touring extensively as their lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. He was the lead singer on Smokie's revival of their hit, "Living Next Door To Alice", recorded with British comedian Roy 'Chubby' Brown, as "Who The …. is Alice?". In the early 1990s he released his one and only solo album, Precious (1991) and two accompanying singles: "July 69" (1990) and "Carry Your Heart" (with Kristine Pettersen) (1991).
