Over the course of two album releases on the Hubro label, the Erlend Apneseth Trio has imagined a completely new landscape between folk, jazz and contemporary music. Since their 2016 debut the trio has been feted in both Norwegian and international press, nominated for various prizes and toured at home and abroad. For this new commissioned work, they have expanded their line-up by adding accordionist Frode Haltli, one of Norway’s foremost modern musicians. He has countless recordings and collaborations under his belt, across several genres, but often rooted in folk music – such as his acclaimed recent release Avant Folk. This concert is a very special encounter between some of the top players on the current experimental scene.

Avandra is the brainchild of Christian Ayala, a progressive rock/metal musician from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The band consists of Christian on guitars and vocals, Luis Javier Rivera on guitars, Gabriel Alejandro Rodriguez on bass, and Adrián Arroyo on drums. This album also includes guest appearances from Kevin Moore (ex-Dream Theater, Chroma Key, OSI), Richard Henshall (Haken), and percussion programming from Daniel Schwartz (Astronoid). The music on this record occupies that grey space between progressive rock and prog metal. You will hear plenty of riffing and technical drumming, but you’ll also hear plenty of alternative and progressive rock, a good amount of melody, delicate acoustic portions, and darker atmospherics bordering on melancholy at times. The vocals are low key and quite good, and they add to the shadowy tone of the album.

Random 1-8 is an EP by rock band Muse. It was released in Japan only in 2000, and features a number of B-sides, live tracks and remixes. The eighth track, a live recording of "Do We Need This?", features three hidden tracks at the end, all remixes of the "Showbiz" classic "Sunburn". Two tracks from this EP - "Forced In" and "Yes Please" - were featured on the compilation album, Hullabaloo Soundtrack.
