    EAC Rip | FLAC (image+.cue+log) - 490 MB | MP3 CBR 320 kbps (LAME 3.93) - 170 MB | Covers included
Genre: Techno, Trance, Breakbeat, Downtempo | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Disques Dreyfus (FDM 36155-2)

This pleasant techno hybrid remixes mostly Chronologie with a few sustainable classics (Equinoxe 4 & 7, Magnetic Fields 2, Calypso, Revolutions) and tries to bridge the gap between contemporary Jarre and late 90s dance. This is better considered a B-side of Chronologie, and so long as you loved that, or old skool techno, you might take to this.

Singles 93–03 is a compilation album by The Chemical Brothers and was released on September 22, 2003. It is a collection of singles published by the band from 1993 to 2003 (though not all the singles are included), plus new songs "Get Yourself High" and "The Golden Path". Early copies of the CD came with a bonus CD. To remain relevant after a decade in the music industry is rare indeed; for a dance act, it's virtually unique. Singles 93-03 ably demonstrates how the Chemical Brothers have managed it. Having first carved a reputation as DJs the Dust Brothers in the early 1990s, the two history graduates narrowly avoided calling themselves the London Dust Explosion before spearheading big beat, becoming a huge live draw, collaborating with Noel Gallagher and having Glastonbury Festival founder Michael Eavis play "Hey Boy, Hey Girl" at his wedding. It's been 10 years of fun, frolics, and gigantean left-field beats for Ed Simmons and Tom Rowland and, as this faultless singles collection testifies, continual reinvention.

    WEB FLAC (tracks) - 1.3 GB | MP3 CBR 320 kbps - 512 MB
3:42:59 | Electronic, Techno, Electro, Breakbeat, House | Label: Dekmantel

Dekmantel Ten is a mirror of Dekmantel Festival. The 7x12" boxset includes seven records that mirror the seven stages to be found at the 2024 event, their 10th edition since 2013. The tracklisting isn't rigid — some of the musicians gathered here have in fact played at most of the available stages — but like a Möbius strip looping round, or a cat-and-mouse game, it's not hard to discern a symbiotic relationship. Split seven ways, DKMNTL100 is a testament to the art of curation and the importance of quality control. At artist level, Dekmantel Ten finds room for several artists — including Karenn, Jeff Mills and Marcel Dettmann — who played at the very first Dekmantel Festival in 2013, and are by now impossible to detach. The Loop's disc contains names whose stories have dovetailed alongside the festival, concluding in memorable headline moments: Young Marco, Palms Trax and Alchemical Sisters, aka Eris Drew and Octo Octa.

7:24:24 | Electronic, Breakbeat, Hardcore, Jungle, Drum n Bass | Label: New State Music / Suburban Records

The title of this excellent release is somewhat overstated. Suburban Base was arguably the most prolific and iconic label of hardcore and jungle music (though less so drum & bass). There are many genre classics on this collection, but it would be impossible on three CDs to come even close to capturing hardcore and jungle’s wonderfully chaotic, punk-like DIY approach. The culture spawned hundreds if not thousands of labels and many more producers, DJs, MCs and events. Much of its output was not primarily listened to as individual tracks, at home on CD or vinyl – but heard mixed together by DJs, on pirate radio stations, at raves and on mix tapes. “Hardcore” emerged around 1990-91 from the acid house and rave scene, a brilliant mutation of influences that brought together US and European house and techno, and, increasingly, sped-up hip hop or funk-derived “breakbeats”.
The term itself describes the aesthetic of the scene – gritty and unpretentious, adding a pugnacious edge to the blissed-out hedonism of acid house.

Following a notorious flirtation with alternative rock, Moby returned to the electronic dance mainstream on the 1997 album I Like to Score. With 1999's Play, he made yet another leap back toward the electronica base that had passed him by during the mid-'90s. The first two tracks, "Honey" and "Find My Baby," weave short blues or gospel vocal samples around rather disinterested breakbeat techno. This version of blues-meets-electronica is undoubtedly intriguing to the all-important NPR crowd, but it is more than just a bit gimmicky to any techno fans who know their Carl Craig from Carl Cox. Fortunately, Moby redeems himself in a big way over the rest of the album with a spate of tracks that return him to the evocative, melancholy techno that's been a specialty since his early days…

Though this eclectic compilation is a bit heavier on the space than it is on the jazz, it is a cohesive, mood-altering tribute to the psychedelic sounds of '60s jazz legends like the Headhunters and Sun Ra. In case you weren't familiar with Quango's trademark fusionary sound, Tosca's loungey atmospherics on "Chocolate Elvis" clue you in right away, with a trippy Rastafarian intro that gives way to smooth guitar melodies, echoing organs, and syncopated programmed rhythms. Pnu Riff's off-kilter "Comfy Club" could be a lost track from the Age of Aquarius, with its kitschy vocal harmonies and Vince Guiraldi-influenced piano, while Love TKO's "Lost in the Amazon" is an otherworldly trip that matches Herbie Mann-style flute with Pink Floyd-ian organs and sound effects.
