Jimmy Rogers was very much a musician's musician – the kind of guitarist that earned accolades from contemporaries and successors alike – yet one who never wins a wide, mainstream audience. Blues Blues Blues was designed as the album that would find Rogers a larger audience, and as such, it has all the bells and whistles of a big-deal blues album. It has the classics ("Trouble No More," "Bright Lights, Big City," "Sweet Home Chicago," "Don't Start Me to Talkin'"), remakes of Rogers standards ("Ludella," "That's All Right"), cult covers (Muddy Waters' "Blow Wind Blow," which kicks off the album on just the right note) and an astounding number of guest appearances, including cameos from (get ready): Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, Lowell Fulson, Johnnie Johnson, Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal, Ted Harvey, Carey Bell, Stephen Stills, and Jeff Healey.

For all of the acclaim it received, there's no denying that No Quarter was a tentative reunion for Page & Plant, containing only a handful of new songs that were scattered among many reworked old favorites. Since its supporting tour went well, the duo decided to make their reunion permanent, setting to work on an album of entirely new material. Taking the world music dabblings of No Quarter as a cue, Page & Plant tempered their eclecticism with a healthy dose of their monolithic guitar army, hiring Steve Albini, the indie rock producer notorious for his harsh, brutal recordings, to helm the boards. In other words, it sounds perfect on paper - groundbreaking veteran artists still taking chances and working with younger collaborators who would challenge them. If only Walking into Clarksdale actually played that way…

Ever since Led Zeppelin parted ways after the death of drummer John Bonham, fans were clamoring for the mighty band to reunite. This willfully ignored both the vital contribution Bonham gave to the group's mystique and Zeppelin's woeful one-off reunion at the 1985 Live Aid charity concert, but the legend of the band was so strong, reunion rumors reached a fever pitch whenever vocalist Robert Plant or guitarist Jimmy Page had a new album in the stores. In 1994, following Plant's moody, misunderstood 1993 album Fate of Nations and Page's widely lambasted collaboration with Whitesnake singer David Coverdale, the two quietly reunited to record a concert for MTV's then-popular acoustic concert series Unplugged. Page & Plant interpreted the Unplugged moniker rather liberally, bringing in a full orchestra, mandolins, and a hurdy-gurdy among other instruments, and Page turned to an electric guitar on occasion…

Jimmy Page Unquestionably one of the all-time most influential, important, and versatile guitarists and songwriters in rock history is Jimmy Page. Just about every rock guitarist from the late '60s/early '70s to the present day has been influenced by Page's work with Led Zeppelin – his monolithic riffs served as a blueprint for what would eventually become heavy metal, yet he refused to be pigeonholed to any single musical style (touching upon folk, country, funk, blues, and other genres). Page also lent a hand in writing (or co-writing) Zeppelin's vast array of classic songs and produced all their albums. Born on January 9, 1944, in Heston, Middlesex, England, Page picked up the guitar at age 13 after being inspired by the Elvis Presley tune "Baby Let's Play House," and while he took several lessons, was mostly self-taught. Instead of attending college right after high school, Page decided to join his first real rock band, Neil Christian & the Crusaders, whom he toured England with. But Page fell seriously ill (with glandular fever) and was forced to quit and recuperate.

EXCEPTIONAL JAPANESE BROADCAST FROM 1984 After Led Zeppelin disbanded in December 1980, Robert Plant briefly considered abandoning music to pursue a career as a teacher in the Rudolf Steiner education system, going so far as to be accepted for teacher training. He nevertheless embarked on a successful solo career, helped by encouragement from Genesis drummer Phil Collins, who would go on to play with him. Plant's solo career began with the album Pictures at Eleven in 1982, followed by 1983's The Principle of Moments. His tours in 1983 (with Phil Collins on drums) and in 1985, were very successful, often performing to sold-out arena-sized venues. The Principal Of Moments Tour began in Seattle in September 1983, and after extensive dates in the USA, Canada and the UK, Plant and his entourage travelled to Australasia for 10 shows in Australia and New Zealand. Next, the band went to Japan for eight concerts across the country, plus one in Honk Kong, which completed the tour on 29th February 1984. Of all the shows performed during the 1983/84 tour, among the very finest was Robert s gig at Osaka s Festival Hall on 20th February 84, recorded as it was for live FM Radio Broadcast. Previously unreleased, this superb concert is now available for the first time on the new CD.

Mighty ReArranger is an album by English rock singer Robert Plant and the first one with his band, Strange Sensation. It was released internationally on 25 April 2005, on 9 May in the United Kingdom and 10 May in the United States. It contains a blend of world and Western music influences (with a psychedelic twist) alongside mystical, oblique, and somewhat cynical references to religion and destiny. The Mighty ReArranger is a fate-like entity that controls the affairs of humanity, and the album explores themes of mysticism and fate. "Freedom Fries" is critical of the presidency of George W. Bush and the climate of United States politics after the September 11 attacks. A Special Tour Edition of the album was released in France containing a bonus live disc with songs recorded at Studio 104 in Paris on 9 June 2005.

Saving Grace is the twelfth studio album by English singer Robert Plant, credited to Robert Plant with Suzi Dian, released on 26 September 2025 through Nonesuch Records. It features the band Plant has been touring with since 2019 and contains ten cover versions of songs by a variety of artists. Saving Grace was named after the band Plant had been performing with for over six years, which includes singer Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown. In a statement, Plant spoke of the joyful dynamic he shared with the band, highlighting "the sweetness of the whole thing" and noting that they would "laugh" together frequently. The album was recorded between April 2019 and January 2025 in studios across the Cotswolds and the Welsh Borders. Plant began working with the Saving Grace collective during the COVID-19 pandemic, creating a roots-oriented sound inspired by folk and traditional blues.

Despite his visibility and star power, Robert Plant thrives in collaboration. The singer's post-Led Zeppelin career has been marked with a range of eclectic pairings and project bands emphasizing his myriad creative interests. Band of Joy (which actually pre-dates Zeppelin) and his partnership with singer/fiddler Alison Krauss are probably the best known of his solo-era endeavors, a list which also includes the Honeydrippers, the Priory of Brion, and the Sensational Space Shifters. Plant's newest band, Saving Grace, might be his most casual and cooperative yet. After meeting banjoist Matt Worley at his local pub, the two put together a crew of regional folk musicians including singer/accordionist Suzi Dian; Suzi's husband, drummer Oli Jefferson; guitarist Tony Kelsey; and cellist Barney Morse-Brown. Billed as Robert Plant with Suzi Dian, Saving Grace is less of a solo record than it is the sound of a new collective learning its strengths…

The "We're Doing It For Love" show was a medical fund-raising benefit for Love's Arthur Lee, who was uninsured and undergoing treatment for leukemia at the time in summer 2006. • The house band backing Plant, called The Rant Band, included Andy York (John Mellencamp's lead guitarist) Tony Shanahan (Patti Smith's bass player), Steve Holley (Paul McCartney & Wings’ drummer) and the other notable musicians. This all-star band backed Plant, as did Ian Hunter and Nils Lofgren, who also appeared that night in their own right. • With Plant’s set list featuring four Arthur Lee covers, in the form of, ‘7 and 7 Is’ - originally from Love’s sophomore album, Da Capo - plus ‘A House Is Not A Motel’, ‘Bummer In The Summer’ and ‘Old Man’ from their seminal third, Forever Changes, the mood of the evening was complete. Plant’s set also featured five Led Zeppelin cuts. Sadly, Arthur Lee died six weeks after the concert took place.

Robert Plant opens Carry Fire with "The May Queen," a song that can't help but stir up memories of "Stairway to Heaven," the most mystical number Led Zeppelin ever cut. "The May Queen" doesn't sound a thing like "Stairway to Heaven," which is deliberate. As Plant murmurs about "the dimming of his light," the churning folk-rock – a rootless, restless gypsy hybrid of American, English, and Middle East traditions – comes to crest upon a violin line that appears to quote "Prodigal Son," a gospel blues attributed to Robert Wilkins.

Pictures at Eleven is the debut solo album by former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant, released on 25 June 1982 in the US and on 2 July in the UK. Genesis drummer Phil Collins played drums for five of the album's eight songs. Ex-Rainbow drummer Cozy Powell handled drums on "Slow Dancer" and "Like I've Never Been Gone." On the song "Fat Lip", guitarist Robbie Blunt played a TR-808 drum machine. The title was an often-heard phrase in U.S. television news that would follow a brief announcement of a story of interest to be shown later during a station's 11 PM news program. Pictures at Eleven is the only one of Plant's solo albums to appear on Led Zeppelin's record label Swan Song. By the time of Plant's next release, 1983's The Principle of Moments, Swan Song had ceased to function, and Plant had started his own label named Es Paranza, which would also be distributed by Atlantic Records.

The Principle of Moments is the second solo studio album by the English singer Robert Plant, formerly of Led Zeppelin. It was Plant's second Top 10 album in the US and UK. It also gave him his first solo Top 40 hit with "Big Log". The most popular track on album-oriented rock radio in the US was "Other Arms", which reached number-one on the Billboard Top Tracks chart. Genesis' drummer Phil Collins played drums for five of the album's eight songs (as he did on Pictures at Eleven). On the other two tracks former Jethro Tull drummer Barriemore Barlow performed. On the closing track "Big Log", Gerald Woodroffe programmed a Roland TR-808 drum machine. Like Plant's debut solo studio album, Pictures at Eleven (1982), the songs departed from the hard rock sound of Led Zeppelin. Following the strength of these albums, Plant launched a successful tour in 1983. Phil Collins was the drummer for Plant's band for the North American portion of the tour. Collins was content to perform in the background, despite his own enormous success as a solo artist and with Genesis at the time. Little Feat's Richie Hayward played drums for the remaining dates.
