Since about 2014 Jim McCarty has joined forces with Detroit blues guitarist/songwriter Kenny Parker in The Kenny Parker Band along with several other veteran Detroit blues/rock musicians.

The French pianist Jean-Pierre Collot presents a highly interesting and, at first glance, unusual juxtaposition of the music of Helmut Lachenmann (b. 1935) with that of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827). Franz Liszt's (1811–1886) piano transcription of Beethoven's Sixth Symphony 'Pastoral' is in dialogue with Serynade and Marche fatale by Helmut Lachenmann. In this WDR production, Collot comes across as a contemporary painter and creates fascinating timbres and shades of these highly virtuoso masterpieces.

Highlights from the varied output of a prolific female 17th-century composer. Born into a noble family, Isabella Leonarda (1620-1704) entered the Ursuline Convent in the Piedmontese city of Novara at the age of 16. Having taken holy orders she lived there for the rest of her life as a religious sister, though the relatively liberal code of the Ursulines as a teaching order enabled her to travel from time to time. In due course she became the director of music in the convent and its Mother Superior. She evidently showed musical promise from an early age, further nurtured within the convent, as the first of her published collections of music dates from as early as 1640, when she was just 20 years old.

In 1956 Jackie McLean was only beginning to assert himself as a true individualist on the alto saxophone, exploring the lime-flavored microtones of his instrument that purists or the misinformed perceived as being off-key or out of tune. 4, 5 and 6 presents McLean's quartet on half the date, and tunes with an expanded quintet, and one sextet track - thus the title. Mal Waldron, himself an unconventional pianist willing to explore different sizings and shadings of progressive jazz, is a wonderful complement for McLean's notions, with bassist Doug Watkins and drummer Art Taylor the impervious team everyone wanted for his rhythm section at the time. The quartet versions of "Sentimental Journey," "Why Was I Born?," and "When I Fall in Love" range from totally bluesy, to hard bop ribald, to pensive and hopeful, respectively…

Endless Season is a fusion group from Bassano Del Grappa, Vicenza (Italy) started by Lorenzo Di Prima, Marco Busatto and Paolo Busatto in 2014. By 2016 the line-up expanded to bring in Alessandro Brunetta and Marcello Sambataro and released their self-titled debut album, inspired by the likes of Scott Henderson, Mike Stern and Alain Caron for example.
