This album was originally recorded in 1982, but not released until 1998 (I think) as 'Nightwinds Dying'. This is another release of the same album. It contains the tremendous studio version of 'Tango', highlight in the bands concerts, plus some (unreleased) other songs. All in all is this a really great rock album! A must for any fan, and perhaps for everyone?

Tomas Bodin's regular job is to play the keyboards for The Flower Kings but as usual some of these musicians and especially if they are a member of The Flower Kings have too many ideas and one musical life doesn't satisfy them any longer. They need to have a solo project. And seemingly Tomas Bodin also has a lot of good ideas left over. But the music on his solo albums is quite different, it's a mix between Jazzrock/Fusion and Retro Prog, mostly instrumental. And of course the whole sound is keyboard dominated.

Artistic director Chris Zelov was in the audience at their Gatherings concert of 2007 in Philadelphia, & as a result of what he heard, commissioned the band to provide soundtrack music. Preparatory writing was undertaken, & these ideas were worked up alongside several improvisations at the recording sessions. They wrote to a series of specific scene lengths & briefs, with the idea that the music's presence would underscore the narrative. These pieces were then re-edited as the documentary entered its final cut. This album is a selection of music from the finished film, placed in this order for a coherent listening experience.

my bloody valentine, the quartet of Bilinda Butcher, Kevin Shields, Deb Googe and Colm Ó Cíosóig, are widely revered as one of the most groundbreaking and influential groups of the past forty years. During an era in which guitar bands denoted, at best, a retro-classicism, not only did my bloody valentine sound unlike any of their contemporaries, the band achieved the rare feat of sounding like the future.

Schubert’s influence, the spirit of fantasy, and pictures from fairy tales are the common themes in this fifth volume of the Schumann Collection. For this great journey across the Schumannian realm, which starts off with one of his early works, the expansive Quartet for Piano and Strings WoO 32, and concludes with the twilight miniatures of Märchenerzählungen (Fairytale Narrations), brothers Pierre and Théo Fouchenneret are still at the head of a fine team of chamber musicians bringing together long-time collaborators and great talents of the young generation.

A Top Ten recording artist in her native Italy ever since her eponymous 1993 debut, Laura Pausini has sold tens of millions of albums worldwide, charting across Europe and Latin America. Her heartfelt adult contemporary pop and soaring vocals put her in the stylistic company of artists such as Celine Dion and Michael Bolton. Pausini went all the way to number one in Italy for the first time with her fourth studio effort, 1998's La Mia Risposta. After a couple more albums, including an attempt to break into English-speaking markets (2002's From the Inside), she returned to the top of the chart with 2004's Resta in Ascolto. It kicked off a streak of consecutive Italian number ones and lasted through the 2010s, including her 2016 Christmas album, Laura Xmas, which had songs performed in Italian, Spanish, English, and French. After winning a Golden Globe and earning an Academy Award nomination for "Io sì (Seen)" from the film The Life Ahead, Pausini celebrated 30 years in the business with the release of 2023's Anime Parallele.

Before I Forget is a 1982 album by Jon Lord, featuring a largely conventional eight-song line-up, no orchestra. The bulk of the songs are either mainstream rock tracks ("Hollywood Rock and Roll", "Chance on a Feeling") or, specifically on Side Two, a series of very English classical piano ballads sung by mother and daughter duo, Vicki Brown and Sam Brown (wife and daughter of entertainer Joe Brown) and vocalist Elmer Gantry. The album also features prolific session drummer (and National Youth Jazz Orchestra alumnus) Simon Phillips, Cozy Powell, Neil Murray, Simon Kirke, Boz Burrell and Mick Ralphs. Lord used synthesizers more than before, principally to retain an intimacy with the material and to create a jam atmosphere with old friends like Tony Ashton.

If Wishbone Ash can be considered a group who dabbled in the main strains of early-'70s British rock without ever settling on one (were they a prog rock outfit like Yes, a space rock unit like Pink Floyd, a heavy metal ensemble like Led Zeppelin, or just a boogie band like Ten Years After?), the confusion compounded by their relative facelessness and the generic nature of their compositions, Argus, their third album, was the one on which they looked like they finally were going to forge their own unique amalgamation of all those styles into a sound of their own.

Debut albums rarely come as ambitious as the Manic Street Preachers' Generation Terrorists. Released in England as a double album (it was trimmed to the length of a single record in America), the album teemed with slogans, political rhetoric, and scarily inarticulate angst. Since the Manics deliver these charged lyrics as heavy guitar-rockers, the music doesn't always hit quite as forcefully as intended. The relatively polished production and big guitar sound occasionally sell the music short, especially the lesser songs, yet the Manics' passion is undeniable, even on the weaker cuts. While the album is loaded with a little bit too much unrealized material in retrospect, its best moments – the fiery "Slash N' Burn," "Little Baby Nothing," the incendiary "Stay Beautiful," the sardonic "You Love Us," and the haunting "Motorcycle Emptiness" – capture the Manics in all their raging glory.

The concept of these recordings is to give the listener the complete Groover experience as you would hear it live in a club. Many recordings today are limited for time so you don’t get the full experience of hearing solos develop and people stretching out like you do on live dates. And then there’s the energy of the audience feeding the band which I think is an essential part of playing music. These recordings were made as if we weren’t recording at all so the listener gets a completely uninhibited performance that sounds great.

Haydn's keyboard sonatas, more than sixty in total, span almost his entire career. However, in the 1780's the genre became much less of a preoccupation for him while he concentrated more on string quartets and piano trios. An increasing number of commissions further added to his workload. Then, in the period when he was preparing for the second of his two visits to London (1794-5), we find the sonata genre crowded out by his other commitments. Nevertheless, the sonatas Hoboken XVI: 48 to 52 (1789-94) are among the most richly satisfying compositions of Haydn's full maturity.

Jordan: The Comeback is Prefab Sprout's largely successful attempt to embrace the breadth of popular music; wisely reuniting with producer Thomas Dolby, Paddy McAloon freely indulges his myriad ambitions and obsessions to weave a dense, finely textured tapestry closer in spirit and construction to a lavish Broadway musical than to the conventional rock concept LP. Over the course of no less than 19 tracks, McAloon chases his twin preoccupations of religion and celebrity, creating a loose thematic canvas perfect for his expanding musical palette; quickly dispensing with common pop idioms, the album moves from tracks like the samba-styled "Carnival 2000" to the self-explanatory "Jesse James Symphony" and its companion piece "Jesse James Bolero" with remarkable dexterity.
