On Sinister Grift, Panda Bear’s first solo album in five years, Noah Lennox has returned with another statement that feels equally cumulative and unprecedented in his catalog. While his solo records have ranged from starkly intimate expressions of grief to colorful, electronic opuses, his music has never before sounded so warm and immediate. Working in his Lisbon, Portugal home studio with Animal Collective bandmate Josh “Deakin” Dibb, Lennox transforms Panda Bear into something resembling an old-school rock ensemble, playing nearly all the instruments himself and inviting kindred spirits into the process such as Cindy Lee, Spirit of the Beehive’s Rivka Ravede, and - for the first time on a Panda Bear solo album - each of his Animal Collective bandmates.

In the 1960s, The Hep Stars were Sweden’s biggest band - inspiring screams and Beatles-like devotion. For the first time outside Sweden, Like We Used To: The Anthology 1965-1967 collects them at their peak, from being one of the era’s wildest bands - emphasised on the live tracks - to performers of affecting songs with a yearning atmosphere.
The band’s songwriter Benny Andersson later achieved global fame with ABBA and Like We Used To features classic early compositions, including the first-ever song he wrote. Also collected is a rare early collaboration with his future ABBA companion Björn Ulvaeus - the first song they wrote together.
Tracks are taken direct from the master tapes as they were meant to be heard in the Sixties - in the original mono. There is no after-the-fact stereo…

This is the debut long-player from the southern California-based Strawberry Alarm Clock – the title track of this album topped national singles charts in December of 1967. As the cover art might suggest, their image practically defined both the musical as well as peripheral aspects of the pseudo-psychedelic counterculture. However, below that mostly visual veneer, Strawberry Alarm Clock actually have more in common with other "Summer of Love" bands such as Love and Kak than the bubblegum acts they have long been associated with. Prior to Strawberry Alarm Clock, the band was initially named Thee Sixpence and issued a 45 – "In the Building" b/w "Hey Joe" – in the spring of 1966. As legend has it, none of the actual bandmembers sang lead on the hit single; the singer was in fact a vocalist named Greg Munford, who was attending the session as a visitor.

Excellent album by the band from Mexico. "Back" is excellent psychedelic rock with pop and garage touches full of well played cool organ and a feeling of "Love & Freedom" all over it, although it has its dark moments too.

David Bowie is the debut studio album by British musician David Bowie, released on 1 June 1967, on Deram Records. Its content bears little overt resemblance to the type of music that later made him famous, such as the folk rock of "Space Oddity" or the glam rock of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. NME critics Roy Carr and Charles Shaar Murray have said, "a listener strictly accustomed to David Bowie in his assorted '70s guises would probably find this debut album either shocking or else simply quaint", while biographer David Buckley describes its status in the Bowie discography as "the vinyl equivalent of the madwoman in the attic".

Complete 3CD anthology of harmony pop band who had a Top 30 UK single in 1969 with 'All The Love In The World'. Features all of their singles as well as a huge number of demo recordings, including 20 tracks now gaining a first-ever issue. After being signed by producer and songwriter Tony Macaulay, North London harmony pop group West Coast Consortium issued a handful of sophisticated, lushly-orchestrated late Sixties singles for Pye. In the spring of 1969, they reached the No. 22 spot in the UK singles chart with the ballad 'All The Love In The World', issued under the abbreviated name Consortium. Unable to build on that success, the band splintered in 1972, although lead singer Robbie FaiR. Would put together an entirely new Consortium line-up a few years later. A 3CD set, 'All The Love In The World' features all of their Pye releases as well as subsequent recordings for the short-lived Trend label and no less than four acetate-only 1967-1969 albums recorded in the band's home studio. These demo recordings reveal them to have been a garage psychedelic pop band at heart, utilising Mellotron, fuzz guitar and Vox Continental organ while also suggesting a parallel debt to the lo-fi, DIY approach of 'Smiley Smile'/'Friends'-era Beach Boys. While some of these recordings have been issued before, this package sees the first-ever release of twenty additional tracks to provide the first-ever complete anthology of a band that deserve better than to be remembered as one-hit wonders.

This Collectables compilation alongside Buddah's Best of the Lemon Pipers: Green Tambourine are just about equal in sound quality and definitive track listing.

2016 three CD collection. As that noted hipster Plato once observed, when the mode of the music changes, the walls of the city shake. And there was certainly a whole lotta shakin' goin' on in 1967. A distended Summer of Love saw psychedelic pop emerging from the underground clubs to infiltrate the home-grown music scene mainstream, with the vast majority following in the footsteps of perennial market leaders The Beatles in surrendering to the new genre. As the year progressed, it seemed that more or less every element of the British pop world had been swept up in the blissed-out UFOria. Beat boom survivors, R&B stalwarts, sharp-suited mods, Swinging London soul revues, earnest acoustic folkies, Denmark Street hustlers, traditional pop acts… all abandoned or refined their previous identities to make music that reflected the ubiquitous influence of psychedelia in it's myriad paisley-patterned guises. Across four hours and eighty tracks, the all-singing, not-much-dancing Let's Go Down And Blow Our Minds anticipates the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love to chronicle a tumultuous twelve-month period of music-making within the British Isles.

This is where fans of the group can sort of stop and settle down at last. MCA Records had previously let the Mamas & the Papas' music out on CD in a trickle; the debut LP was upgraded and a compilation of remastered hits showed later in the decade, but the rest was left to languish. This two-CD set makes up for that neglect, assembling all four of the quartet's '60s albums on two CDs and augmenting them with the mono single versions of "I Saw Her Again," "Words of Love," and "Creeque Alley," plus the non-LP single "Glad to Be Unhappy." One just wants to luxuriate in the sound of this reissue and its little details, like the rhythm guitar on "Do You Want to Dance" that cuts right through the air, the string basses on "Go Where You Want to Go" that sound like they're just across the room, and the rest of the first album.

The follow-up to 2015’s ‘Bahdeni Nami,’ ‘To Syria, With Love’ marks Souleyman’s third full-length studio record. It’s a departure musically and lyrically from his previous material, with focus on more elaborate keyboard and techno elements. Completely setting politics aside, Souleyman consciously shares this personal ode to his native country with an emphasis on his emotional connection to the land and people but not without heartache in view of the nation’s current state.

The original 12-song LP has been expanded to 20 tracks for this CD. The original material comprised a very pleasant and diverting psychedelic pop release, strongly reminiscent at times of the early Bee Gees from Horizontal, interspersed with some heavier-sounding tracks that were closer to the World of Oz's actual sound on-stage. The bonus cuts are single edits and mixes of tracks that were already represented on the album, so there's nothing new to hear except for a punchier, more compressed sound on some of the better songs. The sound quality is most impressive, however, and given the sheer rarity of the original LP, the chances of anyone having the latter already lying around to be heard are next to non-existent - so this CD ends up being essential listening for almost anyone fascinated by the commercial side of British psychedelia.

When post-Undertakers, Brian Epstein-managed UK/US group Lomax Alliance split in mid-1967, Jackie Lomax signed as a solo act with the nascent Apple while his three former colleagues returned to New York. After a US- only single (recorded with Lomax still involved) was issued in the name One, the trio renamed themselves Rain after their favourite Beatles B-side. With the assistance of Young Rascals engineer (and former Undertakers guitarist) Chris Huston, they cut an acetate-only album of original material that combined Beatles-indebted song construction and harmonies with an early Buffalo Springfield/Byrds-style West Coast feel. Despite playing in and around Los Angeles and San Francisco at such venues as the Whisky a Go-Go and the Fillmore, they were unable to place the LP, and split after a brief spell as The Gypsy Wizards Band. Now gaining its first-ever issue, 'Tomorrow Never Comes: The NYC Sessions 1967-1968' features a selection of superb original songs, three of which were reworked from the aborted Lomax Alliance LP, plus six previously unissued bonus tracks cut a few months later as The Gypsy Wizards Band.
