Produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, the 1969 film stars George Lazenby as James Bond 007 and is directed by Peter Hunt, who edited the five previous Bond films. With four legendary Bond scores already to his credit, composer John Barry reported for duty for the fifth time to provide the musical continuity and introduce a new 007, as George Lazenby would be first to succeed Sean Connery in the iconic role of Bond. The score, like the film, is thrilling and powerful, bursting with action, drama and glamour – and considered by many to be one of Barry’s finest works, as demonstrated within this deluxe 2-CD release. Lyricist Richard Palmer-James’ tale of rock stars, chancers, city slickers and those who rest on their laurels is given full voice here by Jakko via a terrific, impassioned vocal. Away from the slashing chords of the verse section, the middle section has an almost dream-like quality. Fripp’s liquid soloing, interspersed with Jamie Muir’s sardonic chuckle sampled from the original LTIA multitracks and triggered by Pat Mastelotto, quickly builds into an intense vocal improvisation and some haunting keyboard work by Rieflin. Except for Interlude between Easy Money and The Talking Drum and Larks’ Tongues In Aspic Part II, this section replicates side two of KC’s 1973 studio album. It’s interesting to note that had Mel Collins accepted an invitation to join a newly revamped Crimson in the late summer of 1972, this is what the Larks’ era band might have sounded like.

Balance (Expanded Edition) 2CD set features Van Halen's multi-platinum 10th studio album with remastered audio, plus a rarities disc featuring B-sides and eight previously unreleased live performances from London's Wembley Stadium (June 24, 1995). Joan Osborne set the world on fire for a few minutes back in the '90s with her reading of Eric Bazilian's "One of Us," a single that dominated the charts for the better part of a year and continues to get radio play. The album, Relish, sold into the millions, making everybody and her brother (especially the folks at her label Interscope) think she was going to be a superstar. It didn't work out that way. Despite being one of the greatest R&B and soul singers around (before she played in the big leagues she issued a few independent recordings on her own Womanly Hips label that offer stellar proof of this), she got her rep as a pop singer; worse yet, as part of the '90s wave of female acts who dominated the charts for a little while and was a part of the first Lilith Fair, while singing pop songs at half power no less.

Roger Waters‘ Us + Them concert film, which chronicles his 2017-2018 world tour, is released on CD, vinyl, blu-ray and DVD. Waters played 156 shows to 2.3m people with a setlist that included Pink Floyd classics from The Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Animals, Wish You Were Here and tracks from 2017’s Is This The Life We Really Want?. Directed by Sean Evans and Roger Waters, the film attempts to provide a sense of what it was like to ‘be there’ with Evans using state-of-the-art digital and audio technology available in the arenas and stadia around the world.

Ahmad Jamal Live at the Penthouse: Volume 1 and Volume 2 brings forth a collection of previously unissued recordings of the iconic pianist captured live at the hallowed Penthouse jazz club in Seattle, WA between 1963 and 1966 with trios featuring bassists Richard Evans and Jamil Nasser, and drummers Chuck Lampkin, Vernel Fournier and Frank Gant. The deluxe packages include extensive booklets with rare photos, liner notes by journalist Eugene Holly, Jr., and interviews with pianists Ramsey Lewis, Jon Batiste, Hiromi and more, plus producer Marshall Chess of Chess/Argo Records. A rare private recording of John Coltrane playing his iconic work A Love Supreme is getting released for the first time. A Love Supreme: Live in Seattle arrives October 8 (via Impulse!/UMe). The set was captured by saxophonist and educator Joe Brazil in 1965 on the final night of Coltrane’s weeklong stint at the Penthouse in Seattle. The lineup featured legendary musicians Pharoah Sanders, McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones, Jimmy Garrison, and more.
