Recorded At – The Supper Club. This release, subtitled "The Original Unplugged Concerts" contains soundboard recordings of 4 concerts at New York's Supper Club on November 16 & 17, 1993. As the subtitle "The original Unplugged Concerts" suggests these recordings were originally planned for release as part of the "MTV-Unplugged" series but apparently the record company thought these shows didn't include enough "greatest hits" and persuaded Dylan to try again the following year. The 1993 recordings were shelved and have since appeared on various bootlegs. This however is the first version on vinyl. Many fans consider these performances to be superior to the more subdued official "Unplugged" shows of 1994. Dylan biographer Clinton Heylin calls the last of the four Supper Club shows "probably the best performance of the nineties."
