A posthumous collection produced by Rita Marley, based on work left behind by Bob upon his death. Some of his best post-Wailers work is here, with songs like "Buffalo Soldier," "Chant Down Babylon," and "Blackman Redemption." Given that he wasn't alive to do the production that he usually helped in, this album seems remarkably true to the general vision of Bob Marley's albums. Other somewhat lesser-known tracks also help to fill in all of the cracks with some remarkable material. Case in point: "Jump Nyabinghi," a nice danceable groove with perhaps less of the usual politics mixed in, but with just as much musicality. Overall, any Bob Marley fan ought to own this album. For the uninitiated, Legend is always the starting point, but, after that, this may not be such a bad choice for additions to the collection.

Kind of like him almost on his own ? Reggae is obviously inseparable from Bob Marley's name. And in a way, ska and rocksteady also owe this outsized Jamaican artist. Marley's music heavily influenced by the social and political themes of his native Jamaica will undoubtedly be the most powerful voice on this island. With him, the Rastafari movement will find a charismatic spokesman who will reach all over the world and spread its pacifist ideas. Bob Marley was especially a demented songwriter who left a large number of masterpieces that became anthems, among them I Shot the Sheriff, No Woman No Cry, Could You Be Loved, Duppy Conqueror, Stir It Up, Get Up Stand Up, Jamming, Redemption Song or even One Love.

Catch a Fire was the major label debut for Bob Marley and the Wailers, and it was an international success upon its release in 1973. Although Bob Marley may have been the main voice, every member of the Wailers made valuable contributions and they were never more united in their vision and sound. Exodus is the ninth studio album by Jamaican reggae recording band Bob Marley and the Wailers, first released 3 June 1977 through Island Records following Rastaman Vibration (1976). Exodus is a reggae album, incorporating elements of blues, soul, British rock and funk. The album's production has been characterized as laid-back with pulsating bass beats and an emphasis on piano, trumpet and guitar. Unlike previous albums from the Wailers, Exodus thematically moves away from cryptic story-telling; instead it revolves around themes of change, religious politics, and sex. The album is split into two halves: the first half revolves around religious politics while the second half is focused on themes of sex and keeping faith.
