Gemini – Pieces For Piano' is a 2CD set which features a selection of recordings made between October 2022 and October 2025. Described by Anthony as an album of his best keyboard compositions written since 'Soirée' (1999), the title of this collection comes from a piece Anthony wrote for the celebrated pianist Martha Argerich, who premiered the work in 2018. 'Gemini – Pieces For Piano' is a beautiful and evocative selection of works by Anthony Phillips, a founder member of Genesis and a gifted and versatile musician and composer.

Sides is the fourth solo album from former Genesis guitarist Anthony Phillips. A first listen, Sides might only seem to be an adequate Anthony Phillips effort. Although it boasts two bona fide King Crimson members (Giles and Collins), the first half of the album consists of wry but forgettable numbers like the pop of "Um & Aargh" and the divorce kiss-off of "Holy Deadlock." But on the much better second half of the album, Phillips shows his more orchestral side on the instrumentals "Sisters of Remindum" and "Nightmare," as well as his distinctive arpeggiated guitar style on "Magdalen." And as always, the wonderfully whimsical and punning cover art by Peter Cross is reminiscent one of what the world lost when we all switched to cramped CD covers.

Anthony Phillips was one of the original founding members of Genesis featuring Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, and Michael Rutherford. Following "Trespass", Genesis' second album, Phillips left (purportedly due to stage fright) and was replaced by Steve Hackett. Nothing was heard again from Anthony until 1977, when he favored us with his first solo, "The Geese and the Ghost". Much of this recording sounds like a lost Genesis album, understandable since Phil Collins does a lot of the singing, and Michael Rutherford is present on guitar, bass, and keyboards, and also shares composer credits with him on major parts of this album…

In the autumn of 1984 Anthony Phillips (ex-Genesis) was commissioned by music publishers De Wolfe to write and record an album of library music for use on TV and Film. In marked contrast to the solo 12-string pieces he was working on at the same time for Twelve, the library project had a number of requirements in the initial brief, one of the key ones being the use of then-contemporary electronic drum and synthesiser sounds.
Anthony composed a number of tracks for the project and scored a selection of them which were then recorded by some top session musicians (credited on the original album sleeve under the name 'X-Cess') in De Wolfe's London studio in the spring of 1985…

Mike Oldfield, watch out. This all-instrumental album, consisting of two long pieces ("Slow Dance Parts 1 and 2") that mix new age sounds with rock, crosses into territory staked out most successfully by the tubular bell-ringer, and comes off as sort of Windham Hill with a beat. This material features clarinet, oboe, flute, trumpet, harp, and percussion as well as guitar, and it does sort of resemble the spacy synthesizer interludes and bridges found as parts of the longer pieces on Genesis's progressive-era albums…
