The same music but two different vocals ! There’s a new guest at the tRKp, a male one this time: Dawid Lewandowski, vocalist and bassist of the band Fizbers! Two different interpretations of the same music, which means that you’ll hear Karolina Leszko (Gerda) on the first CD, and Dawid Lewandowski (Kay) on the second one. The most progressive album in the tRKproject discography !

As a solo artist it is safe to say that Tim is not the most prolific around, but since his last album, 2012's 'Faithscience', he became a member of the Jerry Jennings band and formed The Mangoes with Bret Bingham. Mind you, given it was seven years between his debut and his second, and only six years to this one, possibly we only have to wait until 2023 for the next one. I have both his earlier albums in my collection, and at one time was in regular contact with Mark Dean who had a major part to play with the debut as well as quite a lot in the second, but I note he is not nearly as involved this time (just one guitar solo). Neither is David Ragsdale, who guested on both of those, but although Tim initially wanted this to be a pure solo album he realised he was missing the input of others so again has used plenty of guests.

In every sense, A Day at the Races is an unapologetic sequel to A Night at the Opera, the 1975 breakthrough that established Queen as rock & roll royalty. The band never attempts to hide that the record is a sequel – the two albums boast the same variation on the same cover art, the titles are both taken from old Marx Brothers films and serve as counterpoints to each other. But even though the two albums look the same, they don't quite sound the same, A Day at the Races is a bit tighter than its predecessor, yet tighter doesn't necessarily mean better for a band as extravagant as Queen…

The Arc Light Sessions is the brainchild of keyboardist and composer John Alarcon. It is a studio project which specializes in symphonic progressive rock - a style of music that uses rock as a base and adds to that a tasty mixture of elements from classical, jazz and/or folk to create a new concoction. It has a strong following among people who appreciate high quality musicianship and sometimes indulges in longer than average songs. The ultimate goal is to create quality rather than aim at generating mass appeal.

The Autobiography of Supertramp is simply the international version of the title released in the United States by A&M as Vol. 9 in the rather confusing Classics series – obviously a forced attempt at label-branding gone awry (or at least nowhere). Over its 14 tracks, the collection glosses over a few fine moments from the falsetto-happy art rockers' early career misfires ("Dreamer," "Bloody Well Right," etc.) and sporadic latter-day hits ("Give a Little Bit," "It's Raining Again," etc.), then bites down on the meat, or rather the breakfast meat, of the group's greatest commercial triumph, 1979's multi-million-selling Breakfast in America ("Goodbye Stranger," "The Logical Song," "Take the Long Way Home," the title track). Released in 1990, The Very Best of Supertramp went a step further, arguably bettering this release by adding or supplanting a song or two, but casual fans are guaranteed to get their money's worth with either one.

Basically these four CDs, spread over two double albums, are Toehider's second release. Confusing? Let me explain. Toehider released their debut album To Hide Her in 2008 and after that the band, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Michael Mills, guitarist Lachlan Barclay, bass player Amy Campbell and drummer Ricky Evensand, wanted to do something different so the next release consisted of twelve separate albums which were released on the twelfth of every following month. What I am holding now is the combination of twelve EP size albums gathered on The First Six and The Last Six.

The definitive edition of the 1977 seminal debut solo album by GENESIS founding member ANTHONY PHILLIPS, The Geese and the Ghost. The music album could arguably be seen to have begun life as far back as 1969, but in essence it was the result of nearly four years hard work by Anthony, in collaboration with MIKE RUTHERFORD (who co-wrote three of the pieces on the record), beginning with a series of recordings made on TEAC 4 track tape recorders, progressing to sessions on the barge studio of engineer Tom Newman. Enlisting the assistance of PHIL COLLINS, JOHN HACKETT, VIV McAULIFFE, JACK LANCASTER and many others, The Geese and the Ghost finally appeared in 1977 in America on the Passport label and in the UK on the Hit & Run imprint.

Well, this is the debut of a very promising band coming from Kraków, Poland. 'Where Do You Want Ghosts To Reside' will fullfil the expectations of many prog connoisseurs, I'm sure. Maybe in the vein of fellow countrymen Riverside somehow, when they dared to appear on the scene. I predominantly mean concerning the high level of composition, the implementation and, yeah, the spirit too of course. Rather than the music style, which is quite different, and definitely unique, while more eclectic in general. As an example par excellence just let me highlight the extended Pleonasm. This elaborated piece is meandering like an atmospheric suite. Where they are including jazzy parts and classical hints with ease here. It flows relaxed and matured, fine work!

Almost four and a half decades after the birth of progressive rock music in Hungary one of the pioneers Ádám Török the leader of Mini - Mini (3) as Discogs listed the band - gave an unplugged concert with four young violinist ladies. The name of this formation is Mini Acoustic World. The original Mini songs and Béla Bartók's two compositions were transscripted by Gyula Papp (the former member of Mini) to a rock band and string orchestra complemented by the string quartet.
