Iolanda Cristina Gigliotti, professionally known as Dalida, was a French singer and actress, born in Egypt to Italian parents. She won the Miss Egypt beauty contest in 1954 and began a 31-year singing career in 1956, selling 170 million albums and singles worldwide. Dalida earned 45 gold record awards and a pair of platinum records for her sales in Europe, the Middle East, and Japan, and was the first singer to receive a diamond disc.. A superstar in France and much of the rest of Europe, Dalida enjoyed hit records in three different decades.

It's predecessor »Paralyzing Chains« received good reviews in all important magazines, so expectations for the new album are quite high. After two years since its original release have passed, how satisfied are Sintage with how their full-length debut turned out? “Pretty satisfied for the most part,” says guitarist Julez. “The record stands for itself and has lost nothing of its power and appeal, the music was full-on all the way through. Looking back, we probably should have paid more attention to details. The album was recorded in a single week. It would have been better, I think now, if we had taken a breather, giving the album more time to mature.”

Brandon Sanders returns to Savant Records, and his new recording is something to get excited about. After turning critics' heads with two previous recordings, Brandon is stepping it up with his new project that's all energy and heart. Part of the buzz comes from the stellar lineup. Joining the session is pianist Eric Scott Reed, certainly a name that carries serious weight in jazz today. Reed is one of those rare players who can make any ensemble shine, and his chemistry with Brandon is remarkable, to say the least. Tchaikovsky was already put in front of a piano at the age of four. Two years later, there was astonishment at his rapid progress. Although he never envisaged a career as a pianist, Tchaikovsky would compose much more for this instrument than one might think: numerous short pieces, including the famous Seasons, up until the late 18 Pieces, op. 72 (1893), whose waltzes, mazurkas and polacca would be a farewell to the dance rhythms that he loved so much… But also two sonatas, not to mention his two concertos, the trio op. 50 or his pieces for violin and piano, such as the melancholy Souvenir d’un lieu cher, op. 42 (Reminiscence of a cherished spot) – contemporaneous with the Children’s Album, op. 39.

Music lovers all over the world appreciate the unique sound of Viennese strings. However, there is another special sound – that of the Viennese oboe. For his performance of Johannes Brahms’s symphonies, Kirill Petrenko returns to their roots – and to his own: in Meiningen. Hans von Bülow was the first to perform Brahms’s works there, before Fritz Steinbach succeeded him as court conductor in 1886. Thanks to Brahms’s regular visits to Meiningen, Steinbach became extremely familiar with his music during his 17 years at the court – and meticulously recorded the composer’s wishes as performance notes in the scores.
