It's been nearly a decade since Patty Griffin battled breast cancer—and the drugs and radiation that were her weaponry also took away her voice. She's regained much of her vocal strength now, and she sounds more powerful than she did on 2019's self-titled album. But there's no getting around the fact that she also sounds different.
