Named for the prized possession of Rome’s infamous despot, Caligula’s Horse is a progressive alternative rock band from Brisbane, Australia. Channelling the raw honesty of rock and the skill of progressive metal into a seamless voice at once energetic, grand and forthright, Caligula’s Horse offers devotees of all strains of powerful and progressive music something unique. Formed by Sam Vallen and Jim Grey in early 2011, Caligula’s Horse released their debut album “Moments from Ephemeral City” in April of the same year.

Anti existed as an album cycle before it existed as an album – arguably long before Rihanna knew what form her eighth album would take, either. Work on Anti began in the autumn of 2014 and proceeded in semi-public, progress being measured in Instagram posts and tweets, along with intermittent singles, each released to white-hot anticipation but none metamorphosing into massive hits. When Anti finally appeared in January 2016 – three years after Unapologetic and months later than expected – it bore none of these 2015 singles, a move that suggests a tacit acknowledgment that neither the curiously muted Kanye West and Paul McCartney collaboration "FourFiveSeconds" nor the unrestrained roar of "Bitch Better Have My Money" functioned as appropriate anchors for the album.

Greatest Hits is a 2005 compilation album by the American punk rock band The Offspring, compiling hit singles from five of their seven studio albums along with the previously unreleased songs "Can't Repeat" and "Next to You", the latter of which is a cover version of The Police song included as a hidden track at the end of the album. Greatest Hits peaked at no. 8 on the Billboard 200, and has been certified Gold & Platinum in America. The DVD has the same 14 tracks in 5.1 surround sound and PCM 2.0, commentary by singer Dexter Holland and guitarist Noodles, and the two performing an acoustic rendition of the song "Dirty Magic" from the band's second album Ignition.

This Deutsche Grammophon release marks the debut of the pianist Yunchan Lim, who won the 2022 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (he was the second winner in a row from South Korea) and has been called classical music's answer to K-pop. In several ways, he has the right kind of unconventional, unassuming attitude to stand out from the crowd, beginning with that shown by this album itself. Where anyone else would have issued a solo album or, at the least, an album of high-profile concertos with a major orchestra, Lim chooses a live performance with a regional South Korean orchestra on an album with several wholly orchestral pieces. (This, of course, makes him stand out all the more.)
