This is the second release collecting Orb tracks recorded for John Peel's programme on BBC Radio 1. The first was released in 1991 on the same label. Recorded at the BBC studios, Maida Vale, London. Tracks 1 and 2 recorded 12 May 1992. Tracks 3 and 4 recorded 14 February 1995.

DEACON STREET PROJECT is the baby of Tommy Denander (g/b/keys, e.g. RADIOACTIVE) from Sweden. Originally released in 2004 and 2006 and heavily sought after, the two records can point with one bonus cut each, new and beautiful artwork and booklet and come as a double-decker. AOR with a great portion of Westcoast recorded perfectly by musical extra class like e.g. Geir Rönning (v), Stan Bush (v), Peter Sundell (v), Bruce Gaitsch (g), Lars Chriss (g) or Marcel Jacob (b) to mention just a few.

One of the initial works in the ambient house canon, Chill Out is the practically beatless soundtrack to a late-night journey along the Gulf Coast, and the track titles tell much of the story: "Six Hours to Louisiana, Black Coffee Going Cold," "3AM Somewhere Out of Beaumont," "Elvis on the Radio, Steel Guitar in My Soul." Recorded live by Drummond and Cauty (with much unintended help from sample victims Elvis Presley, Fleetwood Mac, and the throat singers of Tüva), Chill Out consists largely of fragmented, heavily reverbed steel guitar, environmental sounds (birds, trains), occasional synth, and an angelic vocal chorus repeating the KLF's own "Justified and Ancient" theme. Throughout, Drummond and Cauty display an instinctive talent for wallpaper music that's truly diverting, making Chill Out one of the essential ambient albums.

Although having performed and recorded with many of the top mainstream jazz artists of his time, Osie Johnson rarely went into the recording studio as a leader. Original Jazz Classics has reissued two sessions Johnson made for the Period label in February of 1955 while with the Count Basie Orchestra. Many of his sidemen are from the same Basie aggregation. Thad Jones and Frank Wess, the latter on both tenor and flute, were used to being in the spotlight, and their talents are fully utilized throughout this session. But there are solo opportunities for Basie players who rarely got a chance to show their wares while with the Count. For example, "Midnight Mirage" features Charlie Fowlkes and Ernie Wilkens on baritone and alto saxophones, respectively…

Peter Hammill first came to prominence as the founder member and voice of the legendary progressive rock group Van der Graaf Generator. Alongside his work with Van der Graaf Generator, Peter Hammill has enjoyed a long career as an innovative and ground-breaking solo artist. Beginning with his first solo album 'Fool's Mate' in 1971, Peter recorded a series of acclaimed albums for both Charisma Records and Virgin Records covering a wide range of moods, but all undeniably and uniquely original and ground-breaking. Peter Hammill's work has been hailed by musicians such as John Lydon and David Bowie who expressed their admiration for his albums and his song writing. This super deluxe box set comprises all 13 albums released by Charisma and Virgin, all newly remastered from the original master tapes, along with new 5.1 and stereo mixes of 'The Future Now' and 'pH7' by Stephen W Tayler, rare BBC sessions and live recordings and a Blu-ray video disc of rare previously unreleased European television performances.

Duncan Browne's self-titled second album plays like a direct sequel to his debut long-player, Give Me Take You; he uses the same acoustic guitar and writes in a similar idiom, especially on tracks like "Country Song" and "The Martlet." Indeed, apart from the fact that it's generally better recorded, most of Duncan Browne could easily have slotted into the earlier album; the only exceptions are the more elaborately produced songs, such as "Ragged Rain Life," with its electric guitar sound, the keyboard-embellished "Babe Rainbow," and the bluesier, Dylan-esque "Journey," which was a substantial hit in England. Browne's style elsewhere on the record is unique unto himself, built around hauntingly beautiful melodies, mostly in a folk idiom, with some choice results, including the exquisite "Over the Reef" and "My Old Friends"…

In 1990, after almost a decade's absence from the new-release lists and an even longer time away from the charts, Dusty Springfield re-emerged with Reputation. A partial collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys, it proved to be her most satisfying record in 15 years and sold better than anything that she'd released since the '60s. The late-'80s synth pop sound melded perfectly with Springfield's still very expressive, powerful, and soulful singing – Dan Hartman handled the producing chores on four of the cuts, Andy Richards on one, and the album has a unified sound, at once airy and dense, soaring and deep. The best cuts, however, are the five produced (and, in all but one case, written) by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe of the Pet Shop Boys.
