Slave - Show Time (Remastered) (1981/2022)
    EAC Rip | FLAC (tracks, cue, log) - 326 MB | MP3 CBR 320 kbps - 117 MB
49:42 | Boogie, Funk, Disco | Label: Iconoclassic Records

Show Time: a 'that's what's happenin' call to action to 'take it to the stage' and rock a crowd senseless; a description of personalities who bring a flair beyond compare to their life's calling be it b-ball or cabaret and beyond; an exclamation that the electricity in the immediate vicinity is about to be on-and-poppin'; a title placed upon the sixth album by the shape-shifting Dayton, Ohio Fungk collective, Slave, containing it's last major hits "Snap Shot" and "Wait for Me" as well as shoulda been follow-up hits "Steal Your Heart" and "Party Lites." Despite it's status as a Top 10 R&B album and Slave's second highest charting record on the Pop side, Show Time has only previously appeared on CD as half of a now out-of-print two-fer. Iconoclassic Records' Expanded Edition finally shows this funk masterpiece the love it deserves.

    EAC Rip | FLAC (tracks, cue, log, scans) - 1.4 GB | MP3 CBR 320 kbps - 525 MB
3:47:36 | Soul, Funk, Disco | Label: Robinsongs

A unique compilation of repertoire by the Funk band Slave and it's off shoots Aurra and Steve Arrington. Fantastic triple CD release features all of Slaves hit RnB singles that were released on the Cotillion label. CD One kicks off with Slave's #1 US RnB hit 'Slide', a tough, brassy dance floor anthem built on Mark Adams' relentless bass line. The iconic track spent 20 weeks in the US RnB charts and even made it's presence felt in America's pop chart, Billboard's Hot 100. Other key tracks on CD One are 'Stellar Fungk' and 'Just A Touch Of Love'. CD Two features two Top 10 RnB hits 'Watching You' and 'Snap Shot' and the introduction of cuts by Aurra including their RnB Top 10 smash 'Make Up Your Mind' and the rocking 'Are You Single?'. CD Three continues with the hits and includes Aurra's UK Top 20 hit 'You And Me Tonight' along with Steve Arrington's UK Top Five classic 'Feel So Reel' and RnB Hit 'Dancin' In The Key Of Life', plus other brilliant Slave tracks like 'Party Lites' and 'Checking You Out'.

Slave - Original Album Series (2009) 5CD Box Set

Slave - Original Album Series (2009) 5CD Box Set
    EAC | FLAC | Tracks (Cue&Log) ~ 1.23 Gb | Mp3 (CBR320) ~ 455 Mb | Scans ~ 81 Mb
    Funk, Urban, Soul, Disco | Label: Atlantic/Rhino | # 8122 79834 1 | Time: 03:18:22

Original Album Series contains the first five albums from the mighty Dayton funk band Slave: Slave (1977), The Hardness of the World (1977), The Concept (1978), Just a Touch of Love (1979), and Stone Jam (1980). Each disc is in a thin cardboard pouch with reproductions of the original front and back sleeve designs. Since the series limits itself to five discs, the band's phenomenal sixth album – Show Time (1981) – couldn't fit, but this is a convenient way to snap up the majority of the output from one of the planet's best funk bands. Not even the two-disc The Definitive Groove Collection covers all the great singles and album cuts featured within this small box.

    Label: Atlantic/Rhino Entertainment Company (USA) | Cat.# R2 74085 | Released: 2006-08-08

The Definitive Groove Collection amounts, roughly, to a combination of two older Rhino compilations: 1994's Stellar Fungk: The Best of Slave and 2003's Party Lights: More of the Best. With a couple minor exceptions, it contains all of Slave's charting singles (such as "Slide," "Just a Touch of Love," and "Watching You") as well as several spectacular tracks that never hit the charts ("Party Lites," "Steal Your Heart," and "I'll Be Gone," just to name a handful). As with its predecessors, this two-disc set also contains some but not all of the notable material released by Steve Arrington and his Hall of Fame ("Feel So Real," "Dancin' in the Key of Life," "Way Out"). Covering all the bases with Slave and its various spinoffs (Steve Arrington's Hall of Fame, Aurra, Young & Company, Starleana) within two discs would be impossible, but this is the most comprehensive and helpfully annotated Slave anthology released to date.
