CiiVE (pronounced like 'five' but with an 's') are an Australian duo fusing electronic and analog sounds to create their debut album "My Giraffe". A collaboration between Jacqui Hunt (Single Gun Theory) and Brian Conolly, the album has elements of pop, rock and ambient jazz undertones, combined with live drums and sampled sounds. From the pop guitar track of "Feather and Down", to the crescendo of rock-tronic track "Bleed Your Love" and the electrojazz title track "Giraffe", enveloped with the distinct vocals of Jacqui Hunt. "My Giraffe" is an album experience, transposing between moods from side A to B.

Pilgrim's Paradox was founded in 2014 by the guitarist "Yıldırım Kıratlıoğlu" and the keyboardist "Umutcan Güney." They began performing concerts in Ankara scene immediately when the band's line-up took its final shape with vocalist "Murat Özgen Özkan," bassist "Erkin Aydın" and drummer "Oğuz Dindar." At that time, they are known for their energetic interpretations of the pieces from Blues-based rock bands, especially from the late 60s and early 70s. In 2015, they went to work on composing their songs, and at the same time, the band took the name "Pilgrim's Paradox."

Jasmin Saarela, known as the enigmatic leader of the cult band Jess and the Ancient Ones, is preparing for the release of her solo debut. To be released under the moniker Jess By The Lake, the solo album Under The Red Light Shine is a more down to earth take on the traditions of rock music than the acid-heavy guitar walls and cosmic dimensions of her main band. Jess By The Lake’s building blocks are more organic, with a focus on nature mysticism and a curiously Finnish brand of melancholy. The music flows unrestrained, with a few tasteful nods to genre forebearers such as Danzig or David Bowie hidden here and there.

"Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet" is an album by rock musician Rick Springfield, released by RCA Records in 1982. The album was certified Platinum in the United States, and produced three top 40 singles; "Don't Talk to Strangers" (#2 - for four weeks), "What Kind of Fool Am I" (#21) and "I Get Excited" (#32). "Don't Talk to Strangers" and "Calling All Girls" also received considerable Album Rock airplay, charting at #11 and #4 respectively.

Easily the longest of any Capitol single-disc compilation, 2005's The World of Nat King Cole also benefits from a fresh remastering of its material to make it the best introduction to the interpretive brilliance of Nat King Cole. Nearly all the hits that need to be here are indeed present: "Straighten Up and Fly Right," "Route 66," "Nature Boy," "Too Young," and "Mona Lisa." The compilers also wisely chose a few representative songs to replace some of the middling hits; the only surprise is the absence of "The Christmas Song" and "Lush Life," although the chart hits "Answer Me, My Love," "Pretend," "Looking Back," and the much-maligned "Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days of Summer" are missing for good reasons.

With their first major label release, the Indigo Girls come on strong with an outstanding batch of tunes, watertight harmonies, impeccable musicianship, and flawless production. And entering the folk-rock music scene on the successful heels of R.E.M., Tracy Chapman, and 10,000 Maniacs pushed their sales over the million mark and earned the duo a Grammy for Best Folk Recording. The eponymous release kicks off with the upbeat jangle bounce of "Closer to Fine," a modest hit, all-time fan favorite written by Emily Saliers, and a tune the Girls still play at every concert. A particularly fascinating point is that the Indigo Girls never write songs together, but they compliment each other perfectly.

Originally released in 1973, God Is in the House features live performances from the Jerry Newman collection of acetate discs and are fortunately in better technical quality than most of the music from Newman's archives. The remarkable Art Tatum is heard playing three brief, unaccompanied piano solos in 1940, three other numbers in which he is accompanied by Reuben Harris (beating out some quiet rhythms with whiskbrooms on a suitcase), and four duets with bassist-vocalist Chocolate Williams; Tatum has a brief vocal on "Knockin' Myself Out" and a more extensive one on "Toledo Blues," the only times he ever sang on record. In addition, Tatum and Williams back Ollie Potter (a pretty good if completely unknown singer) on "There'll Be Some Changes Made"…

David Munyon is a very complicated guy on the one hand, but an open book on the other. He is on a spiritual track, but not in any New Age way. His music is more than naked, he is more like a raw nerve. But if you wanna hear the real thing that goes right back to the spirit of Woody Guthrie, check out the music of David Munyon. David Munyon´s second studio album was released in May `96, a mere 5 years after his debut "Code Name: Jumper". This time his band consisted of Dave Pomery on bass (James McMurtry, Don Williams), Craig Krampf on drums (Melissa Etheridge) and the god-like Al Perkins on guitar, lap-steel and dobro (Emmylou Harris, Stephen Stills, Bob Dylan etc.).

The album has won several awards including the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1989. To date, the album has sold over 25 million copies worldwide, and received diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). "Faith" spawned six top five singles that substantially helped it dominate the charts in 1987 and 1988.

The music on The Swingin's Mutual!, a dozen selections featuring the George Shearing Quintet, includes six that have vocals by a young Nancy Wilson. This was one of Wilson's most jazz-oriented dates (even if she was never a jazz singer) and is highlighted by her vocals on "The Nearness of You" and "The Things We Did Last Summer," along with instrumental versions of "Oh! Look at Me Now," "Blue Lou," and "Lullaby of Birdland."

This triple-pack is excellent value, featuring the first three (& best) albums by Psychedlic Furs: 1980s eponymous debut, 1981's Talk Talk Talk & 82's Forever Now. The Psychedelic Furs is one of the fine debut albums of that era- up there with Crocodiles, The Affectionate Punch, Kilimanjaro, The Modern Dance & 3 Imaginary Boys. Here The Furs presented their original sound- Richard Butler's cracked Iggy Pop in hell vocals, minimal drumbeats, sinister sax, leftfield pop. It opens with the epic India- which builds up from a swirling post-punk equivalent of Led Zep (see also Echo & Bunnymen's Going UP) to a pulsing new wave rocker- a great sense of drama & the ultimate opening track (Richard Butler's almost trademark rap appearing).
