Aerosmith are considered one of America's biggest rock bands coming out of Boston in the early seventies. Much like the Rolling Stones who spin on the twin axis of guitar and singer it is the same for Aerosmith. Vocalist Steve Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry led the band from the early days through until the late seventies when despite massive commercial success the band was splintering due to a mixture of abuse, bad management and general malaise Joe Perry left the band to form his own band the Joe Perry Project. The band continued however drafting in a replacement in Jimmy Crespo. Second guitarist Brad Whitford left soon after Perry and was in turn replaced by Rick Dufay. Along with Tyler, bassist Tom Hamilton and drummer Joey Kramer the band recorded the album Rock In A Hard Place and continued to tour. In 1986 however moves were made to reunite the original band and Aerosmith signed a big record deal with Geffen Records. Unfortunately the band were still heavily involved in narcotics and subsequently had to enter into re hab. Once out of re hab the band enjoyed a huge crossover success and massive hit single with Run DMC who sampled the bands 1974 song Walk This Way. With this boost the band recorded their next album Permanent Vacation in 1988 which was a multi-platinum record spawning a number of hits including Dude (Looks Like A Lady). Aerosmith Specializing in raunchy, sleazy boogie and melodramatic ballads, Aerosmith are rock icons who continue to shape the sound and style of hard rock and metal. The Boston-based quintet rose to prominence in the 1970s, finding the sweet spot between the menace of the Rolling Stones and the campy, sleazy flamboyance of the New York Dolls; a lean, dirty riff-oriented boogie that was loose and swinging and as hard as a diamond. A cleaned-up Aerosmith happily adapted to an era of MTV and corporate rock without losing their cheerfully trashy essence, giving them a series of smashes in the late '80s and '90s that helped sustain their popularity into the 2020s. Permanent Vacation is the ninth studio album by American rock band Aerosmith, released in August 1987 by Geffen Records. The album marks a turning point in the band's career. It is their first album to employ professional songwriters, instead of featuring material solely composed by members of the band. This came as a suggestion of executive John Kalodner, who also pushed the band to work with producer Bruce Fairbairn, who remained with them for another two albums. It was also the first Aerosmith album to be promoted by heavy music video airplay on MTV. Though Done with Mirrors was intended to mark Aerosmith's comeback, Permanent Vacation is often considered their true comeback album, as it was the band's first truly popular album since their reunion.

Originally titled Vindaloo and set for a July 1996 release date, the album was pushed back time and time again after the band failed to meet Columbia Records' standards. Devil's Got a New Disguise: The Very Best of Aerosmith (known in the UK as The Very Best of Aerosmith) is a compilation album by American hard rock band Aerosmith released on October 17, 2006. It has sold more than 265,048 copies in the U.S. as of May 2008.The album was intended to fulfill Aerosmith's contract with Sony Music/Columbia Records until a release of a new studio album, the first since 2001's Just Push Play but ultimately did not surface. However the long-awaited new album, Music from Another Dimension!, was finally released in November 2012.

Previously unreleased this extraordinary concert is now available on this 2 CD set for the first time, allowing fans to finally get to hear this exceptional late period Aerosmith gig in full. In March 2011, Aerosmith announced a new greatest hits album, Tough Love: Best of the Ballads, which was released on May 10. They then announced a tour of Latin America and Japan in the fall of 2011. Beginning in Lima, Peru on October 22nd, and proceeding to play in Paraguay, Panama, and Ecuador for the first time in their career, Aerosmith flew into Japan in mid-November. They played eight shows in total, in cities such as Osaka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Sapporo and Kanazawa. On 28th and 30th November they performed in the country s capital city, at the Tokyo Dome, which has a capacity of over 50,000 people. The first of the two shows Aerosmith played there was an exceptional performance which was recorded for live radio and TV transmission.

Almost all the heavy-hitters are hauled out for The Essential Aerosmith, from "Mama Kin" to "Jaded," and including both versions of "Walk This Way." Some of the songs are presented in a remixed form – "Draw the Line," "Pink," "Just Push Play" – but all of the new mixes are good, possibly even improvements, and the newer song, "Girls of Summer," is strong (its companion, "Lay It Down," isn't as noteworthy). So, all the parts are in place – why doesn't it feel definitive, then? In retrospect, it's a bit shocking how fully formed the signature Aerosmith sound was on their self-titled 1973 debut – which may not be the same thing as best-executed, because this album still sounds like a first album, complete with the typical stumbles and haziness that comes with a debut. Despite all this, Aerosmith clearly showcases all the attributes of the band that would become the defining American hard rock band of the '70s. Here, the Stones influences are readily apparent, from the Jagger-esque phrasing of Steven Tyler to the group's high-octane boogie, but the group displays little of the Stones' deep love of blues here.

Woodstock 94 is a two-disc set documenting the Woodstock 1994 festival. It was released during November 1994, nearly three months after the event took place. The album was released on A&M Records. On August 11th, 1990, Aerosmith performed at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York. This performance was recorded from a live FM broadcast.
