Several years after the original art rock supergroup Colosseum disbanded, drummer Jon Hiseman formed Colosseum II, a more jazz fusion-oriented outfit featuring guitarist Gary Moore (Thin Lizzy) and keyboardist Don Airey. Their eclectic debut, Strange New Flesh, shows some impressive chops from all involved, with an emphasis on Moore's soulful guitar leads. Vocalist Mike Starr, while not an immensely engaging singer, does a nice job keeping up with Hiseman and bass player Neil Murray. Highlights include the technically showy but blissfully irreverent ode to Pink Floyd, "Dark Side of the Moog," a nice version of Joni Mitchell's "Down to You," and the funky "Gemini and Leo."

Two classic easy-listening albums by Paul Mauriat and His Orchestra, originally released in 1966 and 1967 on the Philips label, together on one CD and remastered from the original analogue stereo tapes for Vocalion's trademark crystal-clear sound. French composer/conductor Paul Mauriat is a classically trained musician who decided to pursue a career in popular music. His first major success came in 1962, as a co-writer of the European hit "Chariot." In 1963, the song was given English lyrics, renamed "I Will Follow Him," and became a number one American hit for Little Peggy March. Mauriat is best remembered for his 1968 worldwide smash "Love Is Blue."

Unlike many bands whose careers had begun in the 1970's, Camel continued to enjoy much success in the1980 s, producing fine studio albums such as The Single Factor.
The album saw Andrew Latimer assemble an impressive array of musicians to record under the Camel moniker, including original Genesis guitarist Anthony Phillips, Francis Monkman, Simon Phillips, David Paton and also saw Peter Bardens guest on the track Sasquatch.
Unavailable on CD for many years, this Esoteric Recordings reissue has been re-mastered from the original master tapes and includes rare edited version of You Are the One as a bonus track.

Live concert by West-German electronic musician and composer Klaus Schulze and the Australian singer Lisa Gerrard. Klaus Schulze is one of the few West-German musicians who is allowed to go on a celebrated tour in Poland 1983, largely due to the instrumental nature of his music. The first volume of Big in Europe was released on 29 November 2013 and contains the entire performance in Warsaw, Poland on 17 September 2009, a concert dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland during World War II. Together with Lisa Gerrard, acclaimed exceptional artist and singer of Dead Can Dance, Klaus Schulze delivered an intensive performance in impressing scenery.

Mott The Hoople were one of the most influential bands to emerge from the UK in the early 1970s. Everyone from Oasis to REM, Queen and The Clash have cited Mott as a major influence on their music. Unfortunately, very little evidence has been made available of the band’s live prowess, save for the all too brief live album recorded and released shortly before they broke up at the end of 1974. While their live performances had drawn renown, they failed to translate into record sales, and their first four albums for Island Records sold poorly. Before the switch to CBS and a game changing collaboration with David Bowie, Ian Hunter and the boys were near rock bottom. Would Mott The Hoople survive?
