Freaky Styley is the second studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on August 16, 1985 on EMI Records. The album name holds its origins in a commonly used phrase in the '80s to describe anything as being "freaky styley". Freaky Styley marks founding guitarist Hillel Slovak's studio album debut, following his return to the band earlier in the year. The album is also the last to feature drummer Cliff Martinez. Freaky Styley was produced by George Clinton, of Parliament-Funkadelic.

On lead track 'Black Summer', ethereal guitar underlines introspective lyrics as the rhythm unlocks a hypnotic drum groove highlighted by evocative bass. It quietly inhales only to exhale with a massive refrain, 'It's been a long time since I made a new friend, waiting on another black summer to end', before a guitar solo echoes to the heavens and back. The interplay between the band borders on intergalactic once again - yet elevated to another stratosphere altogether. Unlimited Love represents the united spirit of four individual souls still fearlessly exploring the future of their eternal friendship and musical congregation.

A Red Hot Chili Peppers album with John Frusciante is always an event. The guitarist returns to the Californian formation after twelve years of absence, the group donning the same trappings that made the successes of Blood Sugar Sex Magik in 1991 or Californication in 1999. We also find there the dripping and metallic basses of Flea, virtuoso hubbub, on Here Ever After, already audible on a hit like By The Way in 2002. Rather than the tangy pop object that raged during Frusciante's recent absence, here is a group that reconnects with funk on Poster Child or with disco motifs on the excellent Aquatic Mouth Dance. This record smells of the 1990s, seems to emerge from spontaneous sessions like the title These Are The Ways, cut in the sound of the time. With a touch of modernity, the Red Hot Chili Peppers explore what has made them one of the most famous rock bands of recent decades, and deliver an album as an anti-wrinkle.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik is the fifth studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on September 24, 1991. Produced by Rick Rubin, it was the band's first record released on Warner Bros. Records. The musical styles of Blood Sugar Sex Magik differed notably from the techniques employed on the Chili Peppers' preceding album, Mother's Milk, and featured little use of heavy metal guitar riffs. The album's subject matter incorporated sexual innuendos and references to drugs and death as well as themes of lust and exuberance. Blood Sugar Sex Magik also ranked number 310 on Rolling Stone's the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" and number 14 on the "100 Best Albums of the Nineties".
